Wosrkshop 1 (Day 1)
SMS EVALUATION
Participants will recognize the importance of school-wide technology in education. Various school management systems will be evaluated. Their basic/essential features highlighted. Then a decision will be made on the most suitable SMS for the school. This workshop is for Administrators only. It is only available face-to-face.
Workshop 2 (Day 1)
SMS TRAINING
The training is on how the school's SMS will be used in the classroom and by administration. This workshop will be recorded and made available in the online module for those who may not be able to attend. This workshop is mainly for teachers and administrators; however, any school staff is welcome.
Workshop 3 (Day 2)
STANDARDS AND TECHNOLOGY MODELS
This training is for teachers and admin; however, it is open to all staff. In this training, participants are introduced to the ISTE standards for students and ISTE standards for educators, and the TPACK and SAMR models. This enables them to know exactly where we are headed in the series of training sessions.
Workshop 4 (Day 3)
USING TECHNOLOGY TO DIFFERENTIATE INSTRUCTION
An introduction to the use of technology to address the different needs of different students and to design effective and engaging lessons. Teachers explore different web2.0 tools and learning management systems and discover how they may be used to differentiate instruction. The workshop is open to all staff, however, it mainly for subject teachers.
Workshop 5 (Day 4)
FLIPPING YOUR CLASSROOM
In this workshop, you will be introduced to the flipped classroom model, you will be introduced to different screencasting software, and you will be trained on video editing. The workshop is open to all staff; however, it is designed mainly for subject teachers.
Workshop 6 (Day 5)
TEACHER LEADERSHIP
This workshop aims at promoting teacher leadership in the school. The basic ideas of teacher leadership will be introduced. After learning about teacher leadership, you will discuss strategies of effective leadership in your departments and the school. This workshop is for teachers and administrators only.
Workshop 7 (Day 5)
CONTINUOUS PD &Â PLN
This is the final workshop in the training plan. In this workshop, continuing professional development and professional learning networks (PLNs) will be discussed. There will also be an Edcamp session and teachers/participants will present their final products. Certificates of completion will be award to participants who have participated in all the workshops and satisfactorily completed all discussions and assignments. Only the PLN session of this workshop is available online.
